A few monthes ago, I ran into someone on the street while I was driving to my house.
She was also an English teacher. Ever since we took a teacher's training course
together in New York state in 2005, I remember that we met once or twice accidentally.
What a coincidence! Her husband is studying LLM at USC. Surprisingly,
she knows one of my friends that I didn't know they knew each other. In addition,
while we were talking I found that my another two friends who influenced on me
a lot were her colleagues. What a small world! She has a daughter who attends to
middle school where my daughter will be go to there this fall. She encourages me
whenever I depressed and gives positive energies. I am looking forward to cheerful
chatting with her after this quarter.
What a small world indeed ! A story of my classmate comes to mind when I hear this. When studying at a college in Russia, many of us went to the U.S, to different states. My classmate happened to be in New York for literally few hours, he was walking in Manhattan looking at beautiful buildings when he noticed a stranger who caught his eye. The stranger was standing very closely to the window of the shop attracting the attention of others by his unusual manners. When my classmate looked closely at that stranger he recognized Alex, the other guy from our class. Being in New York for several hours and run into someone you'd never expect was shocking. Until now we remember this story and laugh- it's a small world :)
ReplyDeleteI agree! It's a small world indeed. She seems like someone who you can talk to whenever you are in need or depressed . Aren't we all need someone like that in our life?
